This news was published by Bizwatch Nigeria Newspaper on 16th November 2016

https://bizwatchnigeria.ng/subsistence-farming-nigeria/

The latest public opinion poll results released by NOIPolls Limited has revealed that Nigeria’s economy is tied to accruable revenue from oil but with the current free fall of crude oil prices,  agriculture has been tipped as the best possible alternative.

According to the survey findings, Nigeria with its abundant arable land and over 160 million people, combined with its ability to grow a broad range of agricultural produce can become a leading agricultural power in the continent.

Although 78 per cent of respondents disclosed that they or their immediate family members engage in farming, only 15 per cent indicated that they are involved in commercial farming.

Also, the poll result showed that 35 per cent specified that they are engaged in subsistence farming while 50 percent mentioned that they are involved in both subsistence and commercial farming.

The implication of this was the unavailability of cash crops like groundnut, cocoa, rubber, palm oil produce, etc. for export purposes, it explained.

https://guardian.ng/opinion/as-nigerian-doctors-seek-jobs-abroad/

For decades, Nigeria’s health sector has been characterised by a disturbing degree of deterioration due to neglect by successive administrations. Indeed, the sector is now near a total collapse with very little hope of revival. Indeed, that President Muhammadu Buhari continues to be treated abroad for his health challenges is a further indictment of the nation’s health care system and a shame on those in office. So, that the Nigerian health sector requires attention is no longer news! What is now more disturbing is that more Nigerian doctors are even fleeing abroad, a situation that must be remedied if an already bad situation would not be made worse.

Nigerians Score Buhari 52% on Governance

This news was published by Thisday Newspaper on 15th December 2017

https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2017/12/15/nigerians-score-buhari-52-on-governance/

Nigerians have given President Muhammadu Buhari a job performance rating of 52 per cent on governance in the 2017 national poll conducted by NOIPOLLS.

The survey was for the months of April and May 2017.
The national poll is the flagship offering of NOIPolls, the premier public opinion polling institution, which conducts extensive polls reflecting the opinions and attitudes of Nigerians on various sectors, topics and social, economic and political issues.

Unveiling the report at a press conference in Abuja thursday, the chief executive of NOIPOLLS, Dr. Bell Ihua, said the survey showed that Nigerians rated the job performance of Buhari at 52 per cent on governance.

Unsurprisingly, the highest approval rating of 75 per cent was polled from the president’s geopolitical zone–the North-west while his lowest approval of 19 per cent came from the South-east geopolitical zone.

“These regional variations arguably reflect not only the voting patterns during the 2015 presidential election, but also speak to the pattern of agitations and counter-agitations since President Buhari came to power,” the survey noted.
