Peter Oshaji

Peter Oshaji is the Director of Research at NOIPolls Limited. With over 16 years’ experience across strengthening health systems, research, banking and provision of financial advisory services, Peter oversees the research team of the company and as well as providing leadership to the MNCH [Maternal, Newborn and Child Health] project.

Before joining NOIPolls, Peter worked with the Palladium Group under the USAID-funded Health Policy Plus Project and Integrated Health Program. He led the Health Policy Plus project which focused on supporting states to capitalize on key reforms in Nigeria health sector such as the Basic Health Care Provision Fund and Primary Health Care Under One Roof policy. Under the USAID Integrated Health Program, Peter was the leadership and governance advisor and lead to health systems strengthening component of the project which covers strategic planning, policy, governance health financing and human resource for health interventions.

 

He supported the development of the framework for private sector engagement for the “adopt a PHC” and “adopt a family” initiatives. He also worked as a business advisor under the Africa Health Markets for Equity (AHME) program funded by DFID and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which focused on strengthening supply-side financing for improvement in family planning services in private health facilities in Nigeria through the Medical Credit Fund (MCF). He also worked in operations and marketing units in Nigeria banking industry.

His core skills include program management, financial modelling, data analysis and advocacy. Peter has executed serval surveys across Nigeria in the areas of health financing, health policy and governance, and is experienced in the use of several health-related models for planning such as the One Health Tool (OHT). Peter is fellow of the African Institute of Public Health Practitioners, has a bachelor’s degree in accounting, a post graduate diploma in public health and a masters in health economics, and banking & finance.
